Hood to Coast : 2007 Hood to Coast, Team 348, Van 2. Listed in running order: Josh, Patty, Peter, Kim, Holly & Jessica.

Spread across three divisions, the event featured 17,400 total runners and walkers from 49 states - no Arkansas - and 35 different countries.

The running part of HTC - the world's largest relay race - is capped at 1,000 teams, with 12 members each. The squads take off in staggered waves, running nonstop - and three legs per team member (36 total), varying in length from 3.5 miles to 7.7 miles - until we reach the coast. Our team started at 12:30ish on Friday and ended a little after 5:00 on Saturday.

Many thanks to Angela and Hayden for organizing Team #348, Sisters of St. X!

LipstickonaPig : October 20, 2006
At today's City Club debate Don McIntire crumbled when Defend Oregon Coalition member Steve Novick pointed out all the flaws in TABOR. Meanwhile, outside the debate hall, members of the Oregon PTA and other supporters point out that no matter how much lipstick you try to put on TABOR, it's still a bad deal for Oregon. Here they are posing with the pig that Howie Rich has sent around the country to push TABOR in other states. McIntire's been staying close to the pig over the past few weeks, which explains why he's been a no-show at several high-profile ballot measure forums. Apparently his New York boss thought McIntire is a better pig chaperone than debater. We have to say, after seeing him today, this is one time we agree with Rich.

Measure26Complaint : Coalition calls for immediate investigation of chief petitioners of nine campaigns for violating Measure 26.

[Portland – June 27, 2006] The coalition that sponsored Measure 26 in 2002 gathered today to call for swift and aggressive investigations of recent Measure 26 violations and for the Secretary of State to hold chief petitioners liable for any and all deviations from the state law.

Last Friday the coalition filed an election complaint against eight petition campaigns for violation of Measure 26. On Tuesday, they added more evidence from another campaign, for a total of nine.
